Launch of World Health Organization (WHO) Guideline for Clinical Management of Exposure to Lead.
This updated guideline has been written by the representatives of WHO from African, the Americas, South-East Asia, Europe, Eastern Mediterranean, and Western Pacific Regions, and Departments of Environment, Climate Change, and Health of WHO. Mohammad Abdollahi, a Professor from the School of Pharmacy of TUMS, contributed to this book as one of the prominent experts. This is published by WHO under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 IGO license. The purpose of this WHO is to assist physicians in making decisions about the diagnosis and treatment of lead exposure for individual patients in mass poisoning incidents. The guideline presents evidence-informed recommendations on the interpretation of blood lead concentrations, gastrointestinal decontamination, and the use of chelating agents and nutritional supplements. more information
