Defence meeting of Mehdi Mogharrabi, PhD student of TIPS

On 16 February 2019, Mehdi Mogharrabi, TIPS's PhD student of Pharmaceutical Sciences did his thesis final defense during a meeting in front of the internal and external referees. The title of his thesis was: "Enzymatic synthesis of coumarin esters from 2-hydroxybenzyl alcohol derivatives using biocatalyst of laccase". In the last decade, using enzymes as bio-catalyst in green organic syntheses and the relationships between chemistry and biotechnology has been attracted attention of researchers. Replacing chemical catalysts with biocatalysts leads to carrying out of selective reactions.  In this study, laccase was used for the aerobic oxidation of aromatic alcohols followed by one-pot synthesis of 30 coumarin derivatives
