Defence Meeting of Fatima Ismail; TIPS International Student

The defense session for one of TIPS International students, Fatima Ismail Hassan for the award of PhD degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology held on Monday 25th November, 2019. Her thesis titled "The Effects of Metformin following Sepsis-Induced Acute Brain Injury" was supervised by Prof Mojtahedzadeh and Prof Abdollahi. The meeting started at 8 am, where she briefly introduced sepsis and the beneficial effects of metformin, the aim and objectives of the study, methods used, results and discussion. The research gave more insight on the neuroprotective effects of metformin in sepsis using cecal ligation and puncture model. The session ended with an interaction between the candidate and the panel.
